Omid Scobie branded ‘factually incorrect’ by Dutch publisher after claiming he wasn’t to blame for ‘racist royals’ leaks
OMID Scobie has been branded "factually incorrect" after claiming he wasn't to blame for "racist" royals being named in a version of his book.
The author of Endgame, 42, admitted yesterday that an "early and uncleared" draft was given to translators in the Netherlands - but he still tried to deny responsibility.

Now the Dutch publishers have slammed Scobie's claims saying they don't recognise themselves "in his representation of the events".
Early copies of the poison-filled book published in the Netherlands suggested Princess Kate and King Charles were the two members of The Firm who had made remarks about the skin colour of Harry and Meghan's first child, Archie.
Until yesterday, Scobie had frantically tried to defend himself in interviews, insisting he never named royals in his writing.
It had seen him branded as a liar - and blasted for peddling "bulls**t" excuses about how the names were included in the Dutch version.

Scobie yesterday admitted an "early and uncleared text" was given to the international publisher in the Netherlands so they could begin translations.
He wrote in a column for that this was "unbeknownst" to him, adding that there was "the understanding that their translation would be updated to reflect the final version of the book I officially submitted".
But today the Dutch publisher blasted that claim.
Xander Uitgevers told : "Omid Scobie's explanation in his column in iNews about the Dutch editorial process of the Dutch edition of Endgame is factually incorrect and we do not recognise ourselves in his representation of the events.

"Xander Uitgevers is not allowed to say anything about the content, we therefore refer to the agent UTA."
Scobie was seen for the first time on Friday since his controversial book reignited the row.
He was pictured leaving Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles wearing a flannel shirt and corduroy trousers.
It comes after Scobie repeatedly insisted he did not write the names in the book.
Last week, the 42-year-old refused to say sorry for the storm adding: “It’s not for me to apologise because I still want to know what’s happened."
He told Victoria Derbyshire on BBC's Newsnight: “We have a full investigation going on into the series of events that happened.
“I’m looking forward to finding out more about it because the English version of the book, the only one I know, the version that I signed off on, that’s the book that’s out there today - that’s the book that has no names in it."
Amid a growing backlash against Scobie's hatchet-job book, a senior Government minister praised the "dignity" and "grace" of Charles and Kate.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, the Sussexes alleged an unnamed member of the Royal Family spoke about their son's skin colour - a story which appears to have changed a number of times.

No evidence has ever been produced and Harry subsequently said there was no allegation of "racism".
Instead, they have focused on "unconscious bias" in the Royal Family.
