Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be STRIPPED of their royal titles under ‘nuclear option’ bombshell new law

An MP said actions need to be taken following the attempt to use race to smear the Firm

PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle could be STRIPPED of their royal titles under "nuclear option" bombshell new law.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could soon be referred to as only Mr and Mrs if a legislation proposed this week in Parliament is passed.

A source said Harry and Meghan have been urged to speak out in support of their family

Conservative MP Bob Seely said the decision will be made at the right time - when the couple are being urged to speak out on Omid Scobie’s discredited book Endgame.

The hatchet-job book claimed King Charles and Princess Kate made comments about Archie's skin colour.

Mr Seely said actions need to be taken following the attempt to use race to smear the Firm, reports the Mail on Sunday.

Blasting the publication of the names, he said: "Of all the damaging insults to throw, 'racism' is the most poisonously insidious, guaranteed to leave a whiff of stigma and impossible to prove when false.

"It is the catch-all slur of the modern era."

Meghan's pal and "mouthpiece" Scobie has refused to apologise for his bombshell book and has since told the world he did not put in the names.

Blasted for peddling "bulls**t" excuses, Scobie blamed the shock naming on Dutch translation.

Mr Seely added: "I suspect that few people believe such denials."

It comes months after he previously demanded Harry be stripped of his Duke of Sussex title for already “trashing” the royal family.

The Sun revealed today that Scobie has further deepened the rift between Princes William and Harry thanks after it emerged that the Dutch version of his controversial book brands the heir to the throne “heartless”.

The highly inflammatory term however, does not appear in the UK edition of Endgame - just like the two names.

Harry and Meghan, who quit the firm in 2020, have stayed silent since the shocking claims came to light.

However, a source close to the family urged them to speak out and defend their relatives, reports .

They said: “For the couple that talked about ‘death by a thousand no comments’, the silence at this point is deafening.”

Lord Andrew Roberts this morning said: "It's absolutely up to Prince Harry to say 'this is a terrible lie' and that his father and sister-in-law are not racist. The ball is in his court."

Endgame - which has been pilloried by Royal experts - claims that Meghan named the royals she accused of raising concerns over the colour of Archie’s skin in letters to the King.

In the English versions of Endgame, Scobie says UK laws prevent him from naming names.

But in two passages in a translated version in the Netherlands, the legal excuse is missing and King Charles and Princess Kate are named as the royals involved.

Scobie blamed it on translation but translator Saskia Peeters hit out claiming the version she received from Scobie had the names of the royals in "black and white".
