Met Police officer carried away on stretcher after collapsing during Queen’s funeral
A POLICE officer was carried away after fainting while on duty for the Queen’s funeral.
The officer collapsed shortly before the procession walked down the Mall towards Westminster Hall.
He fell forward near Parliament Square before being loaded onto a stretcher by concerned colleagues.
Navy personnel then rushed him away just minutes before the Queen’s coffin came through.
They carried him through a line of policeman in front of shocked onlookers.
His condition remains unconfirmed but is not thought to be serious.

It comes as a guard collapsed while standing vigil as The Queen lay-in-state in Westminster Hall.
The service for The Queen’s State Funeral began at 11am.
It saw several members of faith including the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, give addresses.
And Prime Minister Liz Truss read the Second Lesson from John 14:1-9a, telling the congregation: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God.”
The world watched on as the biggest event in Britain’s history took place.
At around 11.55am the Last Post was played by a band of trumpeters, followed by two minutes of silence in the Abbey and throughout the UK.
Reveille, a rousing rendition of the national anthem and a lament played by The Queen’s piper closed the state funeral.
After the service The Queen was returned to the gun carriage by the bearer party and a procession took Her Majesty to Wellington Arch at Hyde Park.
At Wellington Arch the Royal Family watched as The Queen’s coffin was transferred to the new state hearse.

She then travelled out of London to Windsor Castle – arriving at 3.06pm – and a procession up the Long Walk saw the coffin carried past thousands of well-wishers to the castle.
A committal service then took place in St George’s Chapel inside Windsor Castle at 4pm.
The Queen will be laid to rest alongside Prince Philip in The King George Memorial Chapel – who has been kept in the Royal Vaults awaiting his wife’s death.

The pair will be reunited with her sister, Princess Margaret, her father, King George VI, and her mother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in the memorial chapel.
The Royal Family will then attend a private burial ceremony at 7.30pm.
