William & Harry ‘stood out’ by not walking together during emotional vigil for Queen, body language expert says

PRINCES William and Harry stood out tonight as they walked apart from one another at the Queen's vigil, a body language expert has claimed.

The brothers were united in grief as they stood guard of Her Majesty's coffin at Westminster Hall this evening.

But while their cousins - who joined them for the 15 minute moment of reflection - filed into the hall in pairs, William walked in front of Harry.

The Prince of Wales, who wore the Blues and Royals No 1 uniform, slowly led the Queen's grandchildren in step to their positions.

Harry followed behind, ahead of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips and Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn.

Unpicking the scene, body language expert Judi James, told The Sun: "William and Harry were the only siblings to not walk side by side.

"They arrived with William walking first and Harry behind him as the others all paired off.

"Unlike the other grandchildren, William and Harry had the small comfort of the peaks of their hats hiding most of their faces.

"Harry’s mouth was clamped in a straight line throughout and he gave nothing away emotionally."

The Queen’s treasured grandchildren stood side by side tonight in the ­ultimate show of respect for their beloved “Grannie”.

Judi described it as a "united act of unbelievable self control".

And she said the Queen's eight grandchildren "drew strength" from one another to complete the moment of silence.

The expert explained: "Once they took their positions and adopted their pose it was difficult to even spot them breathing.

"There were no tears and none of the expected signals of tension or anxiety, just an air of determination that suggested they were all drawing strength from one another to complete this gesture for their grandmother."
