After William’s astonishing gesture of peace, Harry needs to co-operate to restore their relationship
IN death, the Queen appeared to do the impossible by bringing brothers William and Harry back together.
When they emerged from the same vehicle for a walkabout in Windsor, accompanied by their wives, a nation held its breath.
It was the most incredible reunion I have ever seen. The warring brothers appeared united in grief.
It would have been a huge comfort to the Queen who, at times, appeared to be the only thread tethering Harry to his family.
They have been thrust together and until the funeral the two boys will surely rub shoulders more than once.
There is no way William, Harry, Catherine or Meghan will allow anyone to see between the gaps they so carefully papered over yesterday.

It is quite possible that emotions will be running so high the brothers could become friends again.
One can imagine hugs all round, and lots of tears, as they decide to bury their differences for their grandmother.
How nice it would be to see Archie and Lilibet playing with their English cousins.
It may not be a fantasy, as grief does bring families together.
And it might have been one of the Queen’s fervent last wishes that her family be reunited.
But King Charles will have no time to deal with spats between his sons.
It was William who invited the Sussexes to Windsor — a touching and generous gesture.
William knows his father needs all the support he can give and would so like to begin his reign without the family scandals and unpleasantness they have dealt with since that interview with Oprah Winfrey.
But Harry has to co-operate, too, if this is to work.
