Royals ‘rooting’ for Kate Middleton who ‘won’t use monarchy for own personal gain like Meghan Markle’, says insider
THE entire royal family is "rooting" for Kate Middleton who won't "use the monarchy for her own personal gain like Meghan Markle", insiders have said.
The Duchess of Cambridge was the pinnacle of Royal elegance when she stepped out in a dazzling gold dress for the James Bond premiere in London this week.
The glamorous future Queen officially made her "Dowdy Duchess" reputation a thing of the past as she left jaws agape - and sources close to the Firm say she may have her sister-in-law to thank.
She put the quiet but devoted wife and mother image to one side and took on a leading role when she realised how "Meghan was trying to use the monarchy," one insider said.
They told : "It's fair to say the whole institution has been rooting for the Duchess of Cambridge.
"There was a clear moment where an active decision was made to change her look – be more confident in her style, her approach, her projects, the events she would say yes to.
"This was nothing about changing stylists or staff, either. It was about Kate acknowledging the Duchess of Sussex had changed the game and it was necessary for her to compete.
"That had already been going on between the Prince of Wales and his two sons for some time, but Catherine had never felt the need to get involved. She is the ultimate team player.

"But she soon became aware of how Meghan was trying to use the monarchy for her own personal gain and it helped Catherine understand the importance of the role she could play."
Another source said the Duchess of Cambridge "knew she was going to have to up her game" when confident divorcee and former-actress Meghan stepped on the scene.
They added: "Now she's a royal Rockstar – everything Meghan should have been."
Both Meghan and Kate were plagued by rumours of a rift during their time working together as senior members of the Firm.
A few months after Harry and Meghan's wedding in 2018, it was widely reported that the Duchess of Sussex had made her sister-in-law cry over bridesmaid dress fittings.
"What Meghan should have been"
But in her bombshell interview with Oprah, Meghan claimed “the reverse happened” - and she had been the one left in tears by Kate who later apologised for the incident.
Meghan and Harry stepped down as working royals for a life across the pond and are now living in a £11million California mansion with two-year-old Archie and baby Lilibet.
