A SUSPECTED serial killer who is said to have raped and tortured women across the US was a "cool guy" but suddenly "flipped", claims one alleged victim.
Danueal Drayton, 27, used hook-up sites Tinder and Plenty of Fish to meet up to seven victims and then subjected them to callous attacks, cops say.
The suspect allegedly battered Samantha Stewart, 29, to death on July 17.
The nurse was found dead in her bedroom in New York City with traumas to her head and neck.
Detectives linked Drayton to the rape of another woman, which happened in the same area just weeks earlier.
It's said Drayton also raped and tried to kill a 28-year-old he held captive in a hotel in Los Angeles, more than 2,700 miles away on the other coast of the US.
He met Zynea Barney, 26, on Plenty of Fish in November last year and allegedly tried to strangle her in a park in New York.
But Zynea told "There weren't any issues (to start with). Nothing awkward. He was a cool guy.
"Then he flipped.
"He was choking me, saying 'F***king b***h, I'm going to kill you, I'm going to kill you, I'm going to kill you. No, no. I told you, it's just me and you.'"
Drayton was eventually captured in California this week. Police believe he is linked to more murders and rapes.
"It is believed by us that this individual uses dating websites to meet women, and then victimises these women,' Dermot Shea, chief of detectives in New York said.
Drayton, from New Haven, Connecticut, has been charged with attempted murder, rape, false imprisonment by violence and sexual penetration by a foreign object.
He has not yet made his first court appearance in Los Angeles.
Drayton could face up from between 23 years and life in jail if he is found guilty.
