A DEPRAVED teen who raped a seven-month-old baby after kidnapping her from her home has been sentenced to death.
Th 19-year-old, named only as Pintu, reportedly snatched the newborn as she was being looked after by her partially sighted gran.
The sickening case is the latest to horrify India amid a wave of protests against a rising tide of sexual violence in the country.
The baby girl was found crying in a field after being raped in a school building back in May, reports.
Pintu was found guilty after a 30 day trial earlier this month.
He is the first defendant to face the death penalty after a new law introduced capital punishment for people who rape children under 12.
State women’s commission chairwoman Suman Sharma told that the sentence “will set a precedent” and “will bring relief to mothers who worry about the safety of their daughters”.

Special public prosecutor Kuldeep Jain told the Times of India: "This is the first time in the state that the accused has been convicted within such a short time."
