Netflix producer Matan Meir killed fighting Hamas in Gaza after working on hit Israeli spy series with terror plot
A PRODUCER of a hit Netflix show has been killed in Gaza after fighting against Hamas terrorists.
Matan Meir, 38, was involved in the hit TV show Fauda, that centred around an Israeli spy involved in a terror plot but was killed alongside five soldiers in a deadly explosion.
Matan was a popular member of the show but went to help fight for Israel's 551st Brigade 697th Battalion after the war broke out.
The show's official X account posted: "We are devastated to share that one of our Fauda family members, Matan Meir, was killed in action in Gaza.
"Matan was an integral crew member. The cast and crew are heartbroken by this tragic loss.
"We extend our condolences to Matan's family and friends. May his soul rest in peace."

The Times of Israel reported that he was one of five IDF soldiers killed by a horror blast just outside of an underground tunnel that was viciously booby-trapped by Hamas.
The brutal killings happened next to a mosque in the Beit Hanoun area of the Gaza Strip that has been under fire since the October 7, massacre that saw up to 1,400 killed.
Matan's official role at the Netflix show hasn't been confirmed yet but he was believed to be a production manager.
Some of the scenes from Fauda were filmed on the Gaza Strip before the war broke out.

She paid tribute to Matan, saying: "Matan was a man with a heart of gold, full of kindness and giving.
"I loved you Matan. You were always available to me at every moment.
"You always told me, no problem, it's never too small for me. A man of work and giving out of true love. May your memory be for a blessing."
Liat Benasuly, the lead producer of the series echoed very similar feelings towards the beloved crew member.
She added: "Matan was a man with a different soul.
"A man who entered everyone's heart. A true moshavnik and a man who took real joy in life.
"A production man who only wanted to help and do for others. And all with a smile and love. We will miss him very much."
The show was given four series and has 48 episodes with the latest series coming out earlier this year.

The show is about a retired Israeli agent hunting down a Palestinian fighter who has brutally murdered over 140 people and has no plans on stopping.
First coming to our screens in 2015, Fauda - Arabic for Chaos - received high praise from critics and fans with many calling it "captivating and engrossing."
