Dramatic moment boy, 15, is disarmed by his own PARENTS after firing a shotgun in school
Teen allegedly stole the guns from parents before firing at the ceiling in his classroom
THIS is the incredible moment parents stopped and disarmed their own 15-year-old son after he allegedly fired a SHOTGUN at his school in Utah.
The teen allegedly stole a handgun and shotgun from his parents which he brought to school along with boxes of ammunition before firing at the ceiling of a classroom.
Realising their weapons were missing, the teens parents reportedly followed their son to school where they quickly disarmed him as police descended on the campus.
The video was released by the Bountiful Police Department and was recorded on a bodycam camera worn by the first officer who arrived at Mueller Park Junior High School.
The footage shows a police officer leaving his patrol car and running through the empty school hallways before approaching a man holding the 15-year-old boy against a wall with his arms pinned behind his back. The man restraining the teen was later identified as his father.
Officers are then seen handcuffing the teen while his father is filmed pulling out a package of ammunition from a bag his son was carrying. The shot gun and the handgun can also be seen on the floor.
Following the shooting the campus was immediately placed into lockdown before pupils were evacuated and more than 100 cops descended on the school.
Police said the teen didn't say anything during the shooting as a teacher and one of the 26 students inside the classroom tried to talk him out of firing the weapon again.
His parents reportedly managed to pull their son out of the science classroom and into the hallway where he was quickly disarmed. They has told authorities that they were worried about their son that morning before the shooting took place.
