A WOMAN cheated death in a brutal hit and run crash where she was dragged for 60ft under the front wheels of a pick-up truck.
CCTV footage of the horrific crash shows the victim getting mowed down as she is crossing the road.
After taking the corner at high speed, the woman was left instantly sandwiched between the front wheel and the bodywork.
She was then dragged down the street for at least 60 feet with her head and shoulders sticking out of the wheel arch in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The footage ends before it shows what happened when the truck stopped, but local media reports that the driver fled after the woman fell free.
Astonishingly, she is reported to have survived and is recovering at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.
The incredible clip has become a grim online hit, now viewed by tens of thousands of social media users after it was shared online.
Police are understood to be waiting for an official medical report of the hit and run injuries before they open a formal inquiry.
But South Africa's Crime Intelligence and Community Awareness has already started a nationwide search on its Facebook page for the driver.
Under a terrifying close up picture of the victim being dragged along by the white truck they say: "Please share to all groups and pages - Let's help find the perp from the horrific hit and run incident."
And on YouTube furious watchers have condemned the driver.
One - named as 'FrozenEternity' said: "I bet he was on his phone. How did he not see those people!!!"
Another called 'Gavin VON MEYER' added: "Oh My Lord. I hope the woman is going to recover."
