A CHILLING video released by ISIS shows heavily armed militants cheering and chanting as they shoot down Iraqi and Kurdish forces as the battle for Mosul rages on.
The video, which is entitled 'Ignition of War' and features the ISIS flag throughout, shows the full horror of the battle for the extremist stronghold.
ISIS fighters are filmed as they take part in fierce fire fights with coalition forces as they take a dramatic last stand in the horror showdown.
In one scene a group of jihadis are filmed taking cover behind a sandbank as they fire rocket propelled grenades at advancing tanks.
When the rockets hit their targets the callous fighters are heard cheering in celebration before rearming and striking again.
The video also shows ISIS fighters burning coalition tanks and in one scene a group of fighters pounce upon two abandon military vehicles where they steal ammunition and bullet proof vests.
Another scene shows a young boy, also an ISIS fighter, climbing into an abandoned military vehicle where he steals a rifle before smiling to the camera in satisfaction.
The battle for Mosul is now entering its second week with the militant group reported to have taken thousands of innocent civilians hostage and is carrying out mass executions as Iraqi and Kurdish forces continue to advance.
Former Islamic State fighter Abu Ahmed said the shooting of innocent victims by the extremist fighters is a last ditch attempt by them to keep control of the city.
ISIS leader al-Baghdadi has also called on a battalion of elite jihadis to help defend the city in a bid to to boost the falling morale of Mosul’s beleaguered jihadis.
Meanwhile Mosul families are reportedly waving white flags as they try to escape ISIS fire with the violent jihads using men and boys as human shields.
