Despite being momentarily taken aback, the Prince of Wales went along with the well-wisher’s greeting much to his own amusement.

After bumping fists with Prince Charles, the man broke into laughter, smiling with the royal.

While there are no obligatory codes of behaviour when meeting a member of the Royal Family, people are expected to observe tradition and greet them with a handshake, neck bow or small curtsy.

When addressing a royal for the first time, the public are expected to use the formal address “Your Royal Highness.”
