YORKSHIRE Ripper Peter Sutcliffe has moaned about being unable to watch a documentary on his crimes – because lags at his jail don’t have access to BBC 4.
But serial killer Sutcliffe still bleated that the mini-series was “biased” – and slammed the channel for “bringing stuff up from years ago”.
It comes as we can reveal fiend Sutcliffe – who killed 13 women and attempted to murder seven more – was this week rushed to an NHS hospital after collapsing repeatedly in prison with an infection. He fears losing a testicle after one swelled to the "size of a tennis ball".
BBC three-parter The Yorkshire Ripper Files, which millions watched last week, probed the bungled police investigation into Sutcliffe’s horrendous crime spree between 1975 and 1980.
It also featured surviving victims of attacks, like Tracy Browne who was 14 when Sutcliffe attacked her from behind with a hammer in August 1975 – two months before he killed first victim Wilma McCann.
But remorseless Sutcliffe told a prison pal: “I didn’t see it because we’ve had our channels cut and we don’t get that BBC4.
“But I’ve been told all about it and how one-sided and biased it was.
“These TV companies just bring up stuff from years ago, and it doesn’t help anyone least of all me.
“They should just let it go but it’s become a business all of its own with people making money from programmes about me.
“Most of it is rubbish and they have the same people on all the time, like Wilma McCann’s son and Tracy Browne. They are just publicity seekers.”
Sutcliffe, 72, was rushed to hospital after collapsing in his cell – and being stuck on the floor unable to move for four hours – due to a bladder infection.
The killer – held at tough HMP Frankland, County Durham - eventually raised the alarm and was taken to the jail infirmary.
He was then taken to the nearby University Hospital of North Durham to see a specialist because one of his testicles had swollen alarmingly.
A source said: “Sutcliffe collapsed after getting out of bed in the middle of the night.
“He was there about four hours, because he couldn’t move to reach the buzzer alarm in his cell. He was then found on the floor of his cell just before 7am.
“He had an infection linked to using catheter and was moaning that one of his testicles has swollen to ‘the size of a tennis ball’.
"He said he thinks it will have to be cut out.
“They were worried about his because he couldn’t walk and collapsed several times.
“A doctor at Durham saw him and gave him medication and he went back into the prison’s infirmary.
“But he didn’t stop moaning the whole time he was there, and actually discharged himself after a couple of days.
“It makes you wonder why they bother taking such care of him.
“His health is bad at the moment – and a lot of people think it is failing, not that anybody is shedding a tear about that.”
Diabetic and overweight Sutcliffe – who is blind in one eye and losing the sight in the other – has had a heart attack, angina and bladder problems over the last five years.
He was jailed for life in May 1981 at the Old Bailey over his attacks on lone women, who he bludgeoned from behind with a hammer before stabbing.
We told last month how the serial killer is eyeing a move to a cushier jail, and is challenging his “Category A” prisoner status.
