The Duchess of York described the pair as the 'happiest divorced couple in the world' with the couple continuing to live together

SARAH Ferguson has broken her silence on rumours of remarriage to ex husband Prince Andrew in her first interview for 20 years.

The Duchess of York described the pair as the "happiest divorced couple in the world" after their high-profile split in 1996.

The couple remain on good terms and continue to live together at Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.

It has long been rumoured that Prince Philip is the only thing standing between them remarrying.

But Fergie, 59, told that they are happy how they are, adding: "We’re divorced to each other, not from each other."

She says the pair are "completely compatible", calling Andrew "the best man" she knows.

Hilarious moment Robbie Williams' daughter Teddy asks Sarah Ferguson if she's The Queen... and Fergie's response is absolutely priceless

In her first interview for 20 years the fiery redhead said she was reduced to tears after watching daughter Princess Eugenie marry her long term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank last month, calling it her "proudest moment".

Fergie - who said she wore green as a tribute to her late mum - also told the paper she thought of Diana during the ceremony.

She said: "I thought of absent friends and family; of Diana — but she’s with me all the time."

The Duchess giggled at the congregation and gave a celebratory fist pump for the well-wishers waiting outside Windsor Castle.

The Queen's former daughter-in-law fell out of favour with the family after infamous photos of her having her toes sucked by American businessman John Bryan emerged.
