THIS is the moment brave have-a-go heroes rushed to the aid of a conductor on a busy train after he was punched by a vicious yob.

The 31-year-old yob gets into an fight with the train manager as he walks down the aisle of a carriage in the clip, which was filmed on Tuesday and has been shared widely on social media.

He squares up to the conductor and argues with him.

The violent thug punches the man in the stomach in front of the horrified passengers.

But valiant passengers rise to protect the train manager and restrain the thug in the video, which was shown to British Transport Police.

Officers investigated the violence, which happened on the 8.50pm Virgin service between Birmingham News Street station and London Euston on Tuesday.

A suspect was arrested but has since been released pending further enquiries.

In a statement, British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Milton Keynes Central station at approximately 9.45pm on 19 June, after reports that a member of staff had been assaulted on board a train from Birmingham New Street to Euston.

"Officers attended the scene and a man in his thirties was taken to hospital with injuries to his face.

"A 31 year old man from Cambridge was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm. He was released under police investigation while officers make further enquiries into this incident.
