Dad smuggled knuckle dusters, nun-chucks and stunguns home from holiday

A DAD tried to smuggle 38 weapons back from holiday in his suitcase.
Ryan Sullivan, 24, tried to smuggle home knuckle dusters, nun-chucks and stunguns disguised as mobile phones and torches.
His haul also included CS gas canisters, pepper sprays, metal batons and a butterfly knife.
Prosecutor Jeffrey Jones said Sullivan told Cardiff Airport security officers the items were "holiday souvenirs."
He added: "There were two stun guns disguised as mobile phones, which were capable of discharging between 5,000 and 8,000 volts.
"There were five more disguised as torches.
"There were 13 CS gas canisters and pepper sprays capable of causing nausea, vomiting, and muscular dysfunction."
Jonathan Lewis, defending, said: “He was ignorant of just how serious a position he was putting himself in.”

Self-employed Sullivan, of Cardiff, admitted possessing the prohibited weapons at the city’s crown court. He was sentenced to four years in jail.
Speaking after the sentence Leighton Mawer of the CPS said: "Bringing illegal weapons into the country can result in serious consequences for those who attempt to do so.
"The CPS will continue to work with the relevant law enforcement agencies regarding the importation of these dangerous items into our country."
