A PC who headed up an anti-drinking campaign has lost his driving licence after getting caught behind the wheel while over the limit.
Idiotic PC Matthew Hall drank two cans of beer after a stressful day at work before getting behind the wheel.
The 42-year-old Surrey Police officer was pulled over by fellow coppers in Epsom.
Hall, who's based at Reigate Police Station, was breathalysed and gave a reading of 45 micrograms of alcohol when the limit is 35, Crawley Magistrates Court heard.
Prosecutor Gaynor Byng (doub corr) said: "He was spotted driving his Vauxhall Zafira and was pulled over by police.
"He cooperated with them as they carried out a roadside breath test which came back as a fail.
"He was taken into custody where the reading was given as 45mg per 100ml.
"He was charged without interview and he appears before you as a man of good character and no previous convictions."
In mitigation, Carlton Cabral said Hall had made a "huge error", and as a serving police officer accepted that he "should have known better".
He said: "He must be given credit for his early guilty plea and he did cooperate fully with police.
"This is a life-changing experience for him and accepts he made a huge error.
"He is under immense pressure at work.
"He came home from work and had a can of beer. He took his dog for a walk and while in the park he had another can of beer.
