Tributes to little boy, 4, killed after being hit by car as family walked home from KFC

TRIBUTES have been left to a little boy, four, who died yesterday after being hit by a car as his family walked home from KFC.

Flowers and a picture of the youngster, named locally as Agarwin Sasikaran, were attached to the railings near to where he was struck in Hayes, West London.

His parents were too distraught to speak last night, but a relative said: "It's a very sad time, they don't want to say anything at the moment, we are all so sad, it's such an awful thing to have happened. 

"It's a 40mph limit on that road, but so many cars go much too fast, often much faster than the speed limit. It really needs to be stopped or more children will also be killed."

The four-year-old had been crossing the road on Sunday with his mum when he was hit by a car.

The family had just been to a nearby KFC and were heading home when the tragedy happened.

Cops rushed to the scene in Hayes, west London, following reports of a crash just before 7pm on Sunday. 

The boy was treated at the scene before being taken to a central London hospital. He died yesterday morning. 

The driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage.  

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Officers were called at 6.57pm on Sunday to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Uxbridge Road, UB4.

"Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended the scene.

"The pedestrian, a four-year-old boy, was treated at the scene before being taken to a central London hospital. 

"Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he died there in the early hours of Monday. His family are aware.

"The car driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

"No arrests have been made; enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing."
