And he says Charles showed both his daughter-in-law and her mum Doria Ragland "warmth" at Meghan and Harry's 2018 wedding.

The Prince of Wales famously walked the Duchess of Sussex down the aisle in the absence of her own dad Thomas Markle Snr.

They were said to have later developed a close bond and shared an interest in art, culture and history.

The future king even affectionately called Meghan "Tungsten", inspired by the tough metal known for its robustness and strength, it is claimed.

Writing in the , Mr Bowers said: "Charles used the wedding to show the nation that not only was the monarchy generous-hearted but eager to embrace multi-culturalism and modernity.

"And in the weeks and months that followed the wedding, Charles and other senior members of the Royal Family were determined to let it be known that Meghan deserved praise for her hard work, her independence, her lively mind and her apparent enthusiasm for mastering her new role."

Sensational claims made in Finding Freedom include:

But the author says the couple now appear "defensive and embittered" following bombshell claims made in biography Finding Freedom.

They have been branded a pair of “whingers” over their long list of gripes in the explosive book.

Among the complaints is that Harry and Meghan grew frustrated after the Queen and Charles "refused to bend the rules" over Megxit.

This is despite Harry continuing to "enjoy" chats with his dad during the negotiations - with Charles even offering to "help them financially" out of his own pocket if they needed it.

But even though Charles has made it clear the couple are still part of the fold, it was previously claimed he “personally regrets the fact he won’t see his son and family” since their move to LA.

Mr Bowers now believes Charles should apply the same "spirit of generosity" he showed Meghan to help "rebuild bridges with his son."

He added: "According to the authors, Charles had made it clear to Harry that he was very much part of the future for the Royal Family, despite calls for a 'slimmed down monarchy' with fewer senior working Royals.

"For Meghan, however, I fear there is no return."

A string of explosive claims have been made in Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern Royal Family.

The book claims Harry was “p***ed off” when William warned him not to be “blindsided by lust” over new girlfriend Meghan.

The actress was dubbed “Harry’s showgirl” by a senior royal, while an aide warned she “comes with a lot of baggage”, it is claimed.

Harry, 35, was said to be enraged when William, 38, told him not to rush the relationship and referred to Meghan as “this girl”.

Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, who had access to Harry and Meghan’s close pals, quote a friend of Harry as saying: “Harry could see through William’s words. He was being a snob.”

In another outrageous claim, the book says Meghan was upset that Kate didn’t “reach out” when she entered the royal scene

It also claims the relationship became so bitter that Kate snubbed Meghan during her farewell appearance as a senior Royal.

But the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have hit back at claims they shunned the couple as pals claim they "rolled out the red carpet" for her and Harry.

Finding Freedom lifts the lid on Meghan and Harry's bombshell decision to leave the Royal Family, since branded Megxit.

The biography claims to give an insight into the move - and says the pair were furious at taking a 'back seat' to senior royals like Charles and William.

They moaned they’d taken the monarchy to “new heights around the world” and were held back so they did not “eclipse” the family, it’s claimed.
