WHAT'S UP DOC

Johnny Depp’s Dr Kipper says he ‘romanticises drug culture’ and has ‘no accountability for his behaviour’

JOHNNY Depp's OWN doctor said the star "romanticises drug culture" and has "no accountability for his behaviour", the High Court heard today.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star would become "childlike" when he didn't get his way - at one point texting his assistant: "I will do whatever I damn well please."

Sasha Wass QC, who is representing News Group Newspapers, today read private medical notes written by Depp's doctor David Kipper.

The notes said that Depp "romanticises the entire drug culture and has no accountability for his behaviour".

The doctor also wrote that Depp paid "lip service" to people like the actor's friend Sir Elton John "more for their celebrity than their struggle with sobriety".

Dr Kipper added: "There is also an issue of patience. He is driven almost reflexively by his ID.

"He has no patience for not getting his needs met.

"He has no understanding of delayed gratification and is quite childlike in his reaction when he doesn't get immediate satisfaction."

Depp responded: "We had all just met, Dr Kipper and myself and Ms Heard and Nurse Lloyd, so they were not versed in our lives, our life together, as yet."

Disturbing allegations also unfolded in court today, including claims the star had scrawled "I love u" in his own blood with his severed finger stump after allegedly throttling Amber Heard in a three-day hostage rage.

During the alleged attack in 2015, Depp severed his finger. He claims Heard threw a vodka bottle at him - slicing the top off - but she said he injured himself smashing a phone against the wall.

He admits ripping the phone from the wall in a drug-fuelled rage, but says it's because he was "upset" he had just lost his finger.

The court heard the star then used the bloody stump to scrawl "I love you" on a mirror of the hired home in a £150,000 rampage.

He is then said to have urinated on the floor and painted a fake "d**k" on a picture of a woman - trashing the accommodation after allegedly taking 10 ecstasy tablets in two hours and downing a bottle of vodka and wine.

The 34-year-old actress was left with "cuts all over her body" after the alleged rampage unfolded while the couple were on holiday in Australia.

The 57-year-old — who is suing The Sun for calling him a “wife beater” in a 2018 article — has “vehemently” denied violence against Aquaman star Ms Heard.

And the High Court today heard that just before the Australia trip in 2015, Depp had messaged his assistant Nathan Holmes asking for drugs.

And in a text exchange, Depp is said to have written: "I'm a grown f***ing man and I will NOT BE JUDGED."

The text continued: "I will do whatever I damn well please."

Ms Wass then read a text from Depp's former personal assistant Stephen Deuters, who she described as a "yes man", which called the actor a "f***ing legend".

Depp said Mr Deuters "was trying to make me feel better about myself as I wasn't feeling very good about myself, most of it to do with the relationship with Ms Heard".

The star's addictions were recounted in court as part of his libel suit against The Sun.

In one message sent to a pal by Depp in 2014, the actor said: "I'm going to quite gracefully glide into a massage for my broken back and neck.

"I shall exit in one hour a monster.

"Shall we each swallow an E at around 8pm and go to dinner (at a) wonderful Peruvian spot?"

Depp said that the "Peruvian spot" could have been about a restaurant or cocaine.

The clip was today played at the High Court as Sasha Wass QC, who is representing News Group Newspapers, argued it showed a "spiralling-down" of Depp's sobriety.

But the Pirates of the Caribbean star said he remembered the incident in November six years ago, saying: "I was detoxing from the Roxys [painkiller Roxycodone]."
