CHAOS erupted on a train to Edinburgh yesterday when a drunken lout starting brawling.
Teenage girls were left in tears and passengers were "absolutely terrified" when a wild fist fight spilled over tables of shocked travellers.
A man was arrested after a fight broke out on the 4.30pm service from Kings Cross Station in London to Edinburgh Waverley.
It was filmed by Peter Symington, 44, from Edinburgh, who was taking his 14-year-old twin daughters on a family holiday to see their grandparents.
Sitting in the quiet coach, Mr Symington became concerned when alcohol-fuelled groups who had been drinking at a horse racing gala day got on the train near York.
Their loud talking became "excessive" and increasingly "aggressive".
He told the Scottish Sun: "It was absolutely terrifying.
"My daughters were coming up for a holiday to see their grandparents.
"As I had my back to travel I was somewhat protected, but the then fight spilled into my table and onto the seats where my children had been sitting.
"I made sure my children were all right and got them out the carriage and started filming.
"It kicked off and people were running up and down the carriages and getting involved.
"Everybody was shouting. No-one knew what to do.
"My kids were visibly shaken and very upset. My daughters were in tears."
Mr Symington complained to Virgin Trains about the "lack of coordination" and "completely inadequate" response from their staff.
He added: "When I travel with my children their safety is of paramount importance to me.
"On this occasion both my daughters safety was seriously compromised on your train.
"I feel very strongly that the staff were completely inadequate in protecting my children and the rest of the passengers from what could have easily escalated further."
