Harmony Coach Holidays boss REFUSES to apologise to customers left thousands out of pocket

THE boss of a bust hols firm has refused to apologise to heartbroken customers left thousands of pounds out of pocket.

John Docherty, 56, said nothing in March as Harmony Coach Holidays was put into liquidation.

But after being tracked down by The Scottish Sun on Sunday, the MD still didn’t show any remorse about dozens of travellers left in the lurch after their bookings were cancelled without them getting refunds.

Asked outside his home in Douglas, Lanarkshire, if he had anything to say to his customers, he told us: “They will have to speak to the administrators. I’ve no comment to make.”

Harmony was “wound up voluntarily” on March 28 — just days after we revealed numerous bookings had been axed at short notice. Cops were also called into probe fraud allegations.

The Hamilton-based outfit ran bus trips in the UK and Ireland.

We told how Jessie Halliday, 75, of Whitburn, West Lothian, lost £2,200 on a cancelled five-day holiday to County Kildare.

She’d paid up to go on a break with her three sisters and two pals.

The OAP said: “It’s not an easy time to be out of pocket when you’re on a pension. It’s been horrible — it’s the lies that have made me really upset.

“It’s not about the money any more. I’m so disgusted and appalled at how we’ve been treated. They’re lying through their teeth.”

Ken Pattullo and Kenneth Craig, from Glasgow insolvency experts Begbie Traynor, were appointed joint liquidators of Harmony Coach Holidays Ltd.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We received a report of a suspected fraud. Enquiries were carried out but no criminality was established.”
