Student Tories slammed for event where guests debate sinking migrant boats while drinking port
STUDENT Tories were slammed tonight after inviting guests to quaff port while arguing small boats should be sunk in the Channel.
Conservative societies at University College London and King’s College London also plan to discuss whether Britain should invade Yemen.
Labour's shadow minister Jon Ashworth blasted: “While Tory students quaff port and laugh at weak Rishi Sunak’s failure to stop the boats, the British people are looking on in despair.
“Suggestions of sinking boats, after the tragic loss of life in the Channel last weekend, is a disgraceful new low.
“Rishi Sunak and his colleagues should come clean immediately over whether this event is sanctioned by the Conservative Party.”

Tory HQ tonight gave them a dressing down, branding the event unacceptable and demanded it be cancelled.
A CCHQ spokesman: "This is obviously not acceptable and we will be asking the student groups to remove this and cancel the event."
An Instagram promo for the student Port and Policy night - where young Tories debate each other while boozing - said the motions would be “this house would invade Yemen” and “this house would sink the boats”.
It was accompanied by a picture of a small dinghy packed with asylum seekers making their way across the Channel.
Last night the post appeared to have been edited to remove reference to sinking migrant boats.
