Who is Nadhim Zahawi’s wife Lana?

NADHIM ZAHAWI is the current Chancellor of the Exchequer and MP for Stratford-on-Avon.

But who is his partner Lana Zahawi, and do they have any children?

Who is Lana Zahawi?

Nadhim Zahawi was born on June 2, 1967 in, Iraq.

At the age of nine, he and his family fled Saddam Hussein’s regime and moved to the UK.

He founded leading pollster YouGov in 2000, and became in an MP in May 2010.

The 55-year-old has had previous roles in the Cabinet as minister for Education, and the vaccine rollout.

He was appointed Chancellor in a Cabinet reshuffle in July 2022, following the resignation of his predecessor, Rishi Sunak.

Zahawi is married to wife, Lana Saib.

Her full name is listed as Lana Fawzi Jamil Saib.

She was born in May 1966 and is a director in Zahawi & Zahawi Ltd, a property empire said to be worth £100million.

Her husband resigned as director on January 9, 2018.

Both Nadhim and Lana are horse riders.

In September 2021, the reported that the Zahawis had stopping lessons at a riding school in Tysoe, Stratford-on-Avon.

They revealed that although Nadhim owned the school, Lana ran it.

When did Nadhim and Lana Zahawi get married?

Nadhim and Lana were married in 2004.

The couple are believed to have a country house with stables in Warwickshire as well as homes in London.

Nadhim has been the Conservative MP for Stratford-on-Avon since 2010.

Lana, 56, and Nadhim have three children together.

In 2017 Nadhim revealed that he was barred from visiting his sons, who were studying at Princeton University in the US, due to Donald Trump's travel ban.

The MP was advised by his lawyers that he and his wife would be barred under the controversial new rules banning those born in "Muslim" countries.

He told BBC One's Andrew Marr Show: "I don't think I have felt discriminated since little school when the kids were very cruel, as a young boy coming from Iraq of Kurdish origin.

"For the first time in my life last night I felt discriminated against, it's demeaning, it's sad."

On 9 July, 2022, Nadhim launched his bid to become the leader of the Tory party, and PM.

He was the first contender to agree to take part in a head-to-head debate between leadership hopefuls, which is expected to take place on July 18, 2022.
