LICENCE TO CHILL

Frozen Matt Hancock does his best Daniel Craig impression with swim in the Serpentine

TOPLESS Matt Hancock channelled his inner Daniel Craig today - flaunting his toned torso during an early morning swim.

And the ex-Health Secretary gave stunned onlookers a licence to thrill as he emerged from Hyde Park's Serpentine in snug swim shorts.

Laying down a strong claim to be the next 007, the Tory MP was incredibly cool as he braved the icy water at dawn.

But he was rapped by the Serpentine Swim Club which tweeted: "Serpentine swimming is strictly for members only, and no guests permitted."

The keen runner had been jogging with members of the Parliamentary Running Club such as axed ministers Robert Buckland and Lord Bethell.

He ran the London Marathon last October in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Mr Hancock, 43, was visibly shocked as he entered the -39.2F lake which had frozen over this morning.

People online joked about the snaps, with some comparing the top Tory to muscly Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Mr Hancock resigned as Health Secretary last year after The Sun exposed his lockdown-busting affair with top aide Gina Coladangelo.

Since quitting he has kept a low profile except for a short-lived tilt at job with the UN.

But he is still active in Commons politics and regularly chimes up in debates around Covid and horseracing.

The ex-minister has also been campaigning about more support for people with dyslexia, which he suffers from.
