Larry the Downing Street cat back on duty after vet called in to treat his battle wounds
He has been embroiled in a bitter turf war with rival Foreign Office moggie Palmerston
LARRY the Downing Street cat has been passed fit for duty after being injured in an apparent turf war with a rival.
No10’s Chief Mouser had been on bed rest since Wednesday after the vet was called in to treat him for an injured paw – seemingly the result of his latest scrap with Palmerston, the Foreign Office moggie.
But he was spotted confidently prowling his patch this morning, looking fit and healthy again.
It is believed his sore paw was the result of a catfight with his new rival, a fellow rescue cat who was welcomed to the Foreign Office earlier this year.
Downing Street photographer Steve Back told The Sun: “Palmerston has been testing Larry recently and he is definitely winning.
“He is certainly younger which gives him the upper hand.”
