BORIS Johnson is plotting to paralyse EU decision-making in a bid to break the Brexit deadlock.
The PM will turn the tables on stubborn Brussels chiefs to provoke them into kicking Britain out.
Bolshy Bojo has sanctioned a brash ruse to tie the EU up in knots – using their own laws.
He will refuse to appoint a new European Commissioner if forced to extend our membership beyond October 31.
This will mean they are not legally constituted because it must have 28 commissioners, one from each member state.
And if they try to reduce the number, Mr Johnson will use his power of veto to block it.
That will leave the EU unable to carry out any useful function and stop colluding with Remainer MPs to thwart the referendum result.
'PLAY HARDBALL'
Mr Johnson has decided to “play hardball” after a week in which MPs hijacked Parliamentary rulebook to force him into a further Brexit delay.
A senior Westminster source told The Sun on Sunday last night: “What we have witnessed over the past week has been nothing short of sabotage by MPs.
“Well, we are not going to take this lying down like the previous administration. The gloves are off.
“We’re going to play them at their own game and see how they like it if their own system grinds to a halt.
“It is a position they cannot accommodate.”
Mr Johnson’s high-stakes gambit will take the increasingly bitter and bizarre Brexit battle to a new pitch.
Last week MPs seized control of the Commons to pass laws forcing him to seek an extension of our EU membership beyond October 31.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn shamelessly refused to back a general election – despite calling for one for months.
But the PM’s senior advisers have been plotting a way out of the deliberately imposed logjam.
On Monday Mr Johnson will make a second attempt to trigger a by-election – and warn of the consequences if they don’t.
An insider said: “The strategy of Jeremy Corbyn and others is to force the PM to break his promise to leave the EU and get someone else to do the dirty work of extending. But it won’t wash.”
A cabal of Remainer MPs have hired lawyers to take the PM to court if he refuses to obey.
Mr Corbyn insists he will not break the law nor will he seek an extension or resign.
MPS WILL QUIT IF LAW IGNORED
THE Prime Minister has been warned his MPs will quit in droves if he breaks the law on Brexit.
Tory Kevin Hollinrake said: “Even if it was under consideration, which I’m sure it’s not, you would see a very significant number of Conservative MPs resigning the whip, including me.”
Former Justice Secretary David Gauke said: “Governments must comply with the law.”
The rebel MPs are now lining up a legal team to compel the PM to extend the Article 50 deadline if he ultimately refuses.
Ex-International Aid Secretary Rory Stewart, who was forced out, said: “Because we voted early in September instead of delaying till October we should have time to enforce action through the courts before October 31.”
