No Deal rebel law would cost taxpayers £1billion a month for a THIRD Brexit delay, Dominic Raab warns
A REMAINER law to block No Deal would cost taxpayers £1billion a month, Dominic Raab has warned.
The Foreign Secretary has claimed the bill "would create paralysing uncertainty" - as rebel MPs plot a third Brexit delay by taking control of Parliament today.
This morning Sir Oliver Letwin tabled an application for an emergency debate on Brexit - which will give the rebels control of the Commons from tomorrow.
The Speaker John Bercow will consider it later this afternoon and allow time for a debate and votes.
RAAB WARNING
But Raab claimed the bill would leave the Government vulnerable to the EU chiefs when it comes to negotiating a deal and hit ordinary Brits in the pocket.
He told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “It would create paralysing uncertainty.
“It's craftily designed to allow serial extensions, it would immediately require the UK to accept any EU conditions, however punitive, however harsh, and regardless of those conditions the price tag for the taxpayer would be £1billion each month.
That is clearly designed to delay if not to cancel Brexit, and I think it scuppers the very positive progress we've had with the EU to get a deal.

If the government stays in the EU past the October 31 deadline we will be made to pay into the bloc’s budget until we leave.
However, that could reduce the size of Britain’s £39billion divorce bill.
Previously Boris warned EU chiefs that we won't pay up if Brussels forces us into a No Deal Brexit.
The Foreign Secretary also defended the decision to deselect MPs that tried to block No Deal and said MPs need to stop the "shenanigans" in Parliament.
Former Chancellor Philip Hammond was kicked out of his Runnymede and Weybridge seat this week before he was re-nominated by local Tories.
Raab said: “We do need to focus our minds on the reality of this crossroads week for the country. We want to get out of this rut we’re in, the Brexit rut we’ve been in for three years.”
