Inbetweeners star James Buckley brands mainland Europe a ‘f****** s***hole’ in foul-mouthed pro-Brexit rant
INBETWEENERS star James Buckley has branded mainland Europe a “f***ing s**thole” in a stunning rant in support of Brexit.
The comedian, 32, talked being disappointed by continental visits as he addressed leaving the EU for the first time.
He said on his YouTube channel: “I don’t want to talk about politics but there’s the whole Brexit thing going on at the moment and a lot of people are upset that we’re leaving the EU. I’m sure there’s more to it but whenever I go to Spain or Greece or whatever I’m like, ‘let’s just leave this.’
“Look at it, you can’t drink the water, you can’t flush toilet paper down the toilet, what are we doing? Why are we sticking around?
“The thing with going to Spain, going to Greece, going to Portugal, I’m just on edge the whole time in the sense that I think I’m going to break my neck at any point, it’s a f****** s***hole, the lot of it.”
He added: “The cab drivers are really scary, the roads are made out of stones, you’ve got walls collapsing that are supposed to stop people from falling to their deaths. I’m not into it man, especially when you’ve got two little kids.
“With Greece I thought they’d be like, ‘we need to make some money. Let’s just sell everything cheap and quick.’ No, it costs a fortune.”
He then added: “I am being stupid and flippant for the purposes of newspapers watching this."
It comes after the star, who played smutty-minded student Jay Cartwright in the cult E4 sitcom between 2008 and 2010, admitted fame has left him feeling “constantly on edge”.
James, who will appear in an episode of Doctor Who next year, said: “The cons are basically not being able to relax. Not being able to feel like you’re not ‘on’ when you leave the house, at any point.
“I don’t want to whinge about it but it does make me anxious, it does make me very self-conscious, it does make me uncomfortable.”
