Sun readers back Boris Johnson shutting down Parliament to finally deliver Brexit

SUN readers have backed Boris Johnson's plan to shut down Parliament so he can finally deliver our EU exit.

More than half said they were happy with the PM's decision to prorogue Parliament for nearly five weeks next month - and four in ten were "extremely happy".

A poll of Sun readers described the decision as brave, decisive, excellent and fantastic. Others said they were ecstatic and delighted to hear the news.

Nearly three quarters of the 630 respondents said they thought it was more likely now that Boris would finally be able to get us out of the EU by October 31.

Most said they thought there was now a higher chance of us leaving without a deal.

But a third still think a deal is going to be done in the next 60 days.

Two in three think an election is on the cards for after Brexit - something Boris has repeatedly denied he wants.

The PM has insisted we're leaving by the end of October no matter what happens.

He's vowed to fight his hardest for a deal with the bloc - if they agree to rip out the hated Northern Irish backstop which would tie us to the EU for years to come.

If they refuse to budge, then we'll leave without one, he's said.

But Remainers are furious with Boris' plans because it means they'll have even less time to try and stop a No Deal Brexit.

Jeremy Corbyn and Remainer MPs are set to strike next Tuesday - as soon as MPs come back to Westminster.

A month into Boris' premiership, most Sun readers think he will be good for Britain - and his numbers are up from the same time last month.

39 per cent said they would vote Tory in an election tomorrow, further proof of the 'Boris bounce' in the polls since he took over.

Meanwhile, a fresh poll out today from YouGov showed the Tories were on 33 per cent, with Labour trailing 11 points behind on 22 per cent.
