He is launching the charm offensive as he orders Whitehall mandarins to ramp up No Deal planning.

Several Tory MPs including Ken Clarke and Dominic Grieve have threatened to go nuclear and join Labour in voting to oust Boris if it blocks a No Deal.

Mr Johnson has a working a majority of just one, meaning any backbench revolt risks evicting him from No10 just a couple of months after he was voted in.

The Sun Columnist James Forsyth reveals in today’s newspaper that the series cosy soirees will kick-start on Monday night.
Downing Street insiders said the PM will use the dinners to win round Tory MPs who are worried a No Deal Brexit will damage Britain’s economy.

Boris will reassure his wobbly backbenchers that he wants a deal.

But he will hammer home his belief that his hardball tactics are the only way to force Brussels to finally tear up the hated Irish backstop.

He will also vow to unleash billions of pounds of investment in Britain’s public services to help boost the economy and win over voters.

And he will warn the Tory MPs that if they revolt they would usher Mr Corbyn into power.

The hard-left Labour boss has vowed to call a no confidence vote in Mr Johnson when MPs get back from their summer holidays in September.

And in an extraordinary plot, Labour backbenchers have been conspiring with Tory Remainers to out Bojo and form a new ‘national unity’ government of anti-Brexiteers.

But Mr Johnson is determined to deliver Brexit on October 31 even if he is forced into a general election campaign.

No10 have drawn up emergency plans to hold a snap vote on November 1 – the day after Brexit - if they are forced to.
