Boris Johnson assembles team of Brexit true believers to take Britain out of the EU
BORIS Johnson is set to install a team of top Brexiteers at the heart of Government as he overhauls No10.
The next PM has hired a string of Leave veterans from inside and outside the Commons to run his operation.
He is adamant that Brexit must be steered by true believers after three years of rule by Remain voters.
Although Boris won't have a total clearout of Remainers, with the likes of Matt Hancock and Amber Rudd set to get top jobs, he is certain to install a new team to handle Brexit.
Mr Johnson's campaign chair in the Tory leadership election was ex-leader Iain Duncan Smith.
He could take a Government role such as Cabinet Office Minister allowing him to co-ordinate between departments.
Boris was also strongly supported by Jacob Rees-Mogg, now tipped for a senior job.
Other well-known MPs on Team BoJo include Priti Patel, Dominic Raab and Andrea Leadsom - all possible Cabinet ministers under the new PM.
Among Mr Johnson's backroom team are a number of advisers who worked on the Vote Leave campaign in 2016.
Lee Cain, the likely director of communications, was a key member of the campaign who went on to work for BoJo in the Foreign Office.
Other members of the No10 media team will include Rob Oxley and James Starkie, two more Vote Leave veterans.
Mr Johnson's relations with Parliament will be masterminded by Nikki da Costa, known as a guru of legislative detail.
