Diane Abbott slams Jeremy Corbyn’s Brexit policy as Labour’s civil war escalates

She is one of Mr Corbyn’s closest allies and her attack will heap yet more pressure on him to finally clarify Labour’s Brexit position.

The Hackney MP responded to a Labour supporter on Twitter by writing: “Like you I have supported Labour’s Brexit strategy so far. But like you I am beginning to worry…”

It comes after Labour big hitters rounded on Mr Corbyn in a fiery shadow cabinet meeting earlier this week.

Shadow chancellor John McDonnell compared Labour’s policy to a “slow moving car crash” and broke ranks to demand Britain remains in Brussels.
