In a devastating report, entrepreneur John Mills warned Leave voters will spurn Labour if it positions itself as an anti-Brexit party.

He told The Sun: "A No Deal Conservative leader would be hugely problematic for the Labour Party, and would further threaten our working-class traditional voter base.

"Our current position sets ourselves up to oppose No Deal whatever happens.

"In a position where the Tories were advocating No Deal and pushing for Brexit on October 31, we would become the blockers of Brexit. We would be seen as frustrating the will of the people.

"This new report urges Labour MPs to engage with the possibility of No Deal."

Boris, Dominic Raab and Andrea Leadsom have all vowed to keep the option of a No Deal Brexit open if they make it to No10.

It also warns that voters in the North, Midlands and Wales are rejecting the party because of its anti-No Deal stance.

And it argues staying in the customs union after Brexit would hand Brussels control of the UK's trade policy for good.

The document concludes: "If we are going to conclude a satisfactory comprehensive deal, we have to be able and willing to walk away without one if we cannot negotiate reasonable terms."

Labour Leave boss Brendan Chilton added: "Many Labour MPs have been taken in by scare tactics, but it is time for us to be more open to alternative solutions.
