TORIES have suffered their worst election results in a national election - as No10 frontrunners warned they faced a wipe-out if they fail to deliver Brexit.

The Conservatives won just four seats last night, down 15 from last time, as Nigel Farage's Brexit Party stormed to victory.

Voters punished the two main parties and sent a clear message that they had to now deliver what they'd promised to do - and get us out.

Theresa May said she hoped it would "focus minds" in Parliament and showed the "importance of finding a Brexit deal".

However, raging Conservatives said Britain should have left already and the Tories must deliver on the one thing voters want from them.

Junior minister Nadhim Zahawi told the BBC earlier: "This is the worst result in our party's history in elections.

"It's a wake up call that we have to deliver on the instructions the people gave us in 2016 Brexit referendum."

He said ex-Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab was the only one who could deliver Brexit properly - because he would prepare to leave with nothing.

Mr Raab vowed today to give Brits a "Brexit Budget" and get the country into shape to leave the EU with No Deal at the end of October if he had to - but first he would try and change the backstop.

He said: "If we are forced by EU stubbornness to leave on WTO terms, we will be able to draw from the £39 billion budgeted for the Brexit deal to help ease the transition."

Michael Gove added: "One message is clear from these results - we absolutely need to deliver Brexit. I led the campaign to take Britain out of the European Union and and we must honour that referendum result.";

And Andrea Leadsom said: "These results are truly terrible and demonstrate the damage that has been done to the Conservative Party, and to the country, in not leaving the European Union.

"It is now vital we now find a way to decisively leave the EU."

Senior backbencher Robert Halfon said this morning: "We should have left EU on 29 March as pledged to the public. Now is the time for a renegotiated deal - but to leave by October 31 - whatever happens - with no further Referendum."

Charlie Elphicke said the results were awful for his parties and that we should leave now as soon as possible.

He tweeted: "The terrible results for the @Conservatives last night highlight that we should have left the EU at the end of March - and that deal or no deal, we must now leave the EU as soon as possible and move on."

Daniel Hannan, one of three MEPs who kept their seats for the Tories, said: "I hope out next leader can get Brexit over the line."

John Redwood said the "dreadful election result" was a "decisive rejection of Mrs May's Withdrawal Treaty."

And frontrunners for the Tory leadership contest, Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt, said the party risked a wipe-out if it didn't deliver.

Mr Hunt tweeted: "Yes, we knew it was coming but still a painful result. Existential risk to our party unless we now come together and get Brexit done.

And Boris said the party were on their "final warning" now.

Writing in the Daily Telegraph he said the party faced being "dismissed" if it didn't get us out.

He said: "If we go on like this, we will be fired: dismissed from the job of running the country."

And in The Times Matt Hancock said the Tories had to deliver Brexit through Parliament "whether we like it or not".

He added: "The brutal truth is that plans that cannot command the confidence of parliament would risk a general election. We would be punished for our failure to deliver Brexit and under any leader this would risk Corbyn by Christmas."
