BORIS Johnson has blasted the EU for a lack of transparency, saying that no one knows "who is running it".
The Brexiteer and ex-Foreign Secretary took aim at European bosses saying the real problem was not that it was being run by people abroad, but that no one had any idea how to "kick those particular b******s out".
Speaking to a conference in New Delhi on Saturday, he stormed: "My objection to the EU was not that it was run by foreigners. The problem is we don't really know who is running it.
"I couldn't tell you who they are, or what they do or how they came by their jobs or how they may be removed from office.
"I have no idea how to kick those particular b******s out."
He hastily added that he was not calling them "b******s" but referring to a common phrase used to talk about voters being able to kick their elected politicians out of office.
Boris said at the India Today conference: "Millions and millions of people in the UK have no idea how the system works. It's completely cut off to them."
This June European elections will take place across the continent, and it will be the first time in decades that Britain won't take part in them.
But if Article 50 is extended then there's a chance EU bosses will make us take part in them.
Boris also said that it was not "possible" that Britain should have another EU referendum.
"I think that the anger in the population would be so intense and the tedium – people would be driven absolutely round the bend by the idea of having to vote on this thing again," he said.
Yesterday the Brexiteer, who quit over Mrs May's deal, was voted the top in a poll of Tory members for who should be the next PM.
And he demanded Theresa May "punch a hole through that backstop" to get a compromise deal that Brexiteers can get behind next week.
The PM will come back to the Commons with another deal to put to MPs within days.
"Once she does that, we are free. We are at the races. I am hoping she will do it," Boris said.
