Anna Soubry was pelted with fuming callers today over her quitting

Hosting an LBC show this morning she was confronted with two of her own Broxtowe constituents - named as Neil and John.

Neil blasted: "Madam, people like you disgust me frankly. You're out to derail Brexit. You're being duplicitous, you're being two-faced!

"I'm very angry about people like you. The largest democratic thing to ever happen in this country and people like you are trying to derail Brexit."

Neil accused her of having "done the dirty" on her own constituency.

He demanded that she stand down from her seat and trigger a by-election in her area so they have a chance to boot her out.

But she insisted: "My views haven't changed, the Conservative party has changed.

"The only vote I think we should be having is a People’s Vote."

You disgust me!

The Remainer wants another vote to overturn the result of the historic Brexit referendum, which she admitted today.

She would vote to Remain in the EU if there were another campaign, she told listeners.

Another voter, John, claimed to be a member of the local Broxtowe Conservative party, and was fuming at her decision to quit the party yesterday.

He blasted: "I can't put into words what you've done. You're sitting there in the lime light, you've been stirring it up [since the referendum.]

"You say you believe in democracy but you don't believe in the vote of 17.5million people.

"You've been rude to all your constituents.

"Why would I vote for a lady who is not genuinely and doesn't believe in democracy? Early retirement is the best way forward for you."

Ms Soubry told listeners she would "keep true to her values and principles" and she'd received an "overwhelming support from her constituents" so far in her email inbox.

"Some of us had been thinking about this for a very long time, we were unhappy about the direction of travel in the Conservative party.

"Theresa May talked on the steps of Downing street about all the great social injustices that face our country and she was determined she would address and solve them.
"Unfortunately none of that has come about - the Conservative party has moved so far to the right, we no longer feel we have a home in it."
