Gary Lineker should be SACKED for Brexit rants, blasts BBC cricket presenter Jonathan Agnew
The Remain-voting footie legend often uses Twitter to speak out against Brexit
PASSIONATE Remainer Gary Lineker was today blasted by a BBC colleague for his anti-Brexit rants.
The Beeb's voice of cricket Jonathan Agnew hit out at the footie legend and told him to keep his views to himself.
Aggers claimed that if he shared political opinions as often as Gary he'd be fired from the corporation.
BBC journalists are meant to be strictly neutral - but the rules are looser for telly stars in the sport or entertainment rules.
Mr Agnew, 58, wrote: "Gary. You are the face of BBC Sport.
"Please observe BBC editorial guidelines and keep your political views, whatever they are and whatever the subject, to yourself.
"I’d be sacked if I followed your example. Thanks."
Fans of Mr Lineker rushed to his defence and accused Mr Agnew of being a hardline Brexiteer - but the cricket presenter replied: "As I have repeatedly stated I voted Remain. We lost."
Mr Lineker, the host of Match of the Day, regularly slags off Brexiteers on his Twitter feed.
He has even spoken at events to promote the People's Vote campaign which seeks a second EU referendum.

In the past 24 hours he has clashed with former teammates such as Chris Waddle and Peter Shilton after they publicly backed Brexit.
The bust-ups seem to have been the last straw for Aggers as he tweeted his message shortly afterwards.
Mr Agnew, who played for England as a fast bowler before becoming the BBC's cricket correspondent in 1991, is usually quiet about his own political views.
