CBI boss tells rebel MPs to back Theresa May’s EU deal to avoid the impact of a No Deal Brexit
BUSINESS bosses will today plead with Tory MPs to back Theresa May’s EU deal to avoid the “wrecking ball” of a No Deal Brexit.
CBI President John Allan will beg Brexiteer rebels to talk to firms in their constituencies about the risk of sinking the PM’s agreement.
The voice of corporate Britain will also tell his body’s annual conference that new investment into UK firms is drying up fast as fears of political chaos spiral.
Mr Allan will say: “We’re trying to reach a deal that respects the result of the Referendum and minimises damage to our economy.
“While companies in this room would be the first to say that it is not perfect, it does open a route to a long-term trade arrangement and unlocks transition – the very least that companies need to prepare for Brexit.
“And most importantly, it avoids the wrecking ball that would be a No Deal departure.”

Mr Allan’s plea comes after The Sun last week revealed Chancellor Philip Hammond implored business bosses to argue for the PM’s deal during a late night conference call.
