JEREMY Corbyn has made a "laughable" claim to sort out Brexit in just six months with a second referendum - as he kicks off his campaign launch this morning.

The leftie boss tried to claim Brexit was "not that complicated" as he made his first major speech in Battersea today.

He chose to deliver his first major speech in the seat where Marsha de Cordova has a slim majority of around 2,400 votes - and he'll be working hard to try and hold onto it.

On Brexit, he vowed to get everything sorted in just six months, despite politicians having debated Brexit for more than three and a half years.

That would mean he would have to seek a FOURTH Brexit extension from the EU.

And the bloc have already said they will absolutely not renegotiate the deal yet again.

Mr Corbyn said today: "We have to get this issue sorted out.

"Labour would get Brexit sorted within six months. We will let the people decide whether to leave on a sensible deal, or to Remain. It really isn't that complicated!

"We, the government will carry out whatever the people decide."

He added: "We will go into office and immediately open negotiations with the EU about a sensible relationship with Europe, that doesn't destroy jobs."

He claimed it was "now time for real change" as lefties cheered and whooped him at the launch.

As the election starting gun was fired today:

One Labour MP wasn't impressed with today's launch.

They told The Sun: "Voters are about to burst the bubble of anyone still drinking the kool aid."

TOTALLY LAUGHABLE

Tories immediately came out to blast Mr Corbyn's claims as completely undeliverable.

James Cleverly MP, Chairman of the Conservative Party, said: today: "This is a laughable claim. He promised to honour the first referendum result and then did precisely the opposite.

"Corbyn’s second referendum would mean years more of dither, division and delay.

"Only a vote for Boris Johnson and the Conservatives will get Brexit done so we can get on with investing more in our NHS, getting more police on our streets and improving every one of our schools."

The PM will today tell voters they must back him or face a "nightmare on Downing Street" of Jeremy Corbyn.

Mr Corbyn also took aim at the corrupt system and billionaire elites, saying the December 12 poll is the "once-in-a-generation" chance to change Britain and "take on the vested interests holding people back".

What did Corbyn promise in his campaign launch speech?

  • Promised to fight the elite and tax-dodgers
  • Proposed 30 hours of free childcare for all 2 - 4 year olds
  • Pledged to end tuition fees at university
  • Said he would end the privitisation of the NHS and build more homes to buy and rent
  • Insisted he would tackle the climate crisis with a Green Deal
  • Scrap Universal Credit
  • Bring water and rails back into public ownership
  • A £10 an hour minimum wage

FIGHT THE ELITE

He singled out business leaders and landowners as on the wrong side of a "rigged system".

He vowed to take on the elite “because we know whose side we’re on”.

Mr Corbyn said: “You know what really scares the elite?

“What they’re actually afraid of is paying their taxes. So in this election they’ll fight harder and dirtier than ever before.”

The leftie boss failed to declare whether all of his shadow cabinet would make it into Government if he won the election - words which alarm people like Tom Watson and Emily Thornberry who have been critical of the leadership's position.

STAYING PUT

Mr Corbyn was asked if he would stay in post if he lost the election, but he didn't answer.

The leftie boss did say: "I love doing this job, I love meeting people.

"I will be so proud to lead a Labour government."

Speaker Bercow will leave his role today after ten years in the role.

He's been posing for snaps this morning to mark his last day.

Remainer MPs will miss him dearly for allowing MPs to repeatedly scupper the Government's Brexit plans.

But Brexiteers will be all too happy to see the back of him.
