Boris Johnson insists his family will repair its bitter division over Brexit
BORIS Johnson has insisted his ambitious family’s “natural clannishness” will heal its bitter schism over Brexit.
The PM has come to biter blows with ex-Tory minister brother Jo and writer sister Rachel, both ardent Remainers.
The former walked out of his Cabinet in protest at Boirs’s approach last month and the latter attacked his strong language as “reprehensible” last week.
But the Johnsons will pull together, he insisted. Boris explained: “Do not underestimate my family's natural clannishness. We're a very loving and close knit family.”
But the PM wouldn’t say whether the deep divisions will heal in time for them all to spend Christmas together at Chequers.
Quizzed on the prospect, he added: “We're getting out of the October 31. Let’s worry about Christmas when it comes”.
