Labour party conference – when does it finish and what’s the schedule?
THE Labour Party conference is drawing to a close after headline-grabbing votes on everything from Brexit to 32-hour working week.
Jeremy Corbyn's closing speech is the biggest draw on the conference ticket - here's what else has been discussed at the Brighton meet.
When does the conference end and who can attend?
The Labour Party conference began on September 21 and ends tomorrow, September 25.
It is being held at The Brighton Centre and the Hilton Brighton Metropole.
The event is for union delegates and ordinary party members, and is known as a space where the party's leaders can discuss policy and key issues.
What's been said on Brexit?
The conference floor descended in to chaos on September 23 after Remainers failed in a bid to force Corbyn to back staying in the EU.
Mr Corbyn managed to whip his ultra-loyalist supporters into line and force them to back his plan to decide Brexit next year.
Labour's position will now be to stay neutral until after a special conference, kicking the decision into the long grass yet again.
Chaos erupted after chair Wendy Nichols refused to hold a vote by a ballot, despite both sides claiming victory in the showdown.
She initially suggested the Remain plot had won - before being overruled by general secretary Jennie Formby, a close ally of Mr Corbyn.
Remainers are now furious the vote appeared to be so close but wasn't put through to a full election.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan vowed to continue campaigning "to give the public the final say and stop Brexit".
He tweeted: "I do not believe this decision reflects the views of the overwhelming majority of Labour members who desperately want to stop Brexit.
"Labour IS a Remain party."
What were the other key issues?
Labour has unveiled a number of bold policies at its annual conference.
These include pledges to:
- Introduce a 32-hour four-day week (though this would be a national average rather than a cap on working hours)
- Scrap private schools
- Get rid of universal credit
- Introduce free care for the elderly
- End prescription charges
When will Jeremy Corbyn's speech be?
Party leader Jeremy Corbyn will make his keynote address at 12pm on the final day (September 25) of the conference.
Shadow Health Secretary Jonathan Ashworth is scheduled to make his speech on Sunday morning.
John McDonnell, the Shadow Chancellor, made his address speech at 9.45am on Monday.
