Boris Johnson urged to topple Speaker Bercow by putting up another Tory to challenge him at next election
BORIS Johnson allies are urging him to topple Speaker Bercow by booting him out of his Buckingham constituency by a fellow Tory.
Tories last night called on party bosses to ditch an old rule which means no one traditionally stands against the Speaker to run to be an MP.
Mr Bercow has had no one from the major parties challenge him in his seat since he came into the role in 2009.
David TC Davies told the Mail on Sunday: "The reality is now that the gloves are off. Remain-supporting MPs – including Mr Bercow – are using every trick in the book and tearing up all precedence to try to prevent the democratic voice of the public from being heard on Brexit.
"We have to fight this battle in the same way. If that means breaking the precedent of not standing against the Speaker in his constituency at the next General Election, then so be it."
He called on Tory Party chairman James Cleverly to field an official Tory candidate against Mr Bercow.
And he said the "Remain supporting Speaker is not acting in an impartial fashion" and is "following his own instinct".
The Sun revealed today that furious Tories are plotting to try and remove him from his position as the Speaker too.
The Speaker called Boris' plans to shut down Parliament an "outrage" this week, and vowed to fight it last month with "every bone in my body".
Tory Brexiteers have repeatedly slammed the Speaker for being biased in favour of pro-Remainers in Parliament.
He overruled officials earlier this year to allow a vote on a Brexit Plan B in the Commons, which ripped up years of precedent.
This week MPs are set up for a huge battle in Parliament as pro-Remain MPs try and block a No Deal Brexit with a new law.
Speaker Bercow has been in talks with some of the plotters - including Tory MP Sir Oliver Letwin.
But they are yet to reveal their full plans, to try and keep Boris in the dark for as long as possible.
It's thought they will bring forward a new law to force the PM to seek an extension to Article 50 with the EU.
But there's a risk that he could just ignore it, or veto the EU decision.
Other ideas are passing a law saying that Britain can't leave the EU without a deal in place.
And Boris is poised to trigger an election himself if Remainers succeed in bringing his plans to a half, The Sun on Sunday revealed today.

Allies of the Speaker branded the plot "absurd" and claimed the Government was trying to smear him ahead of a huge battle foor Brexit this week.
A spokesperson for the Speaker said he would tell the Commons "in the event he has anything to say on his future plans".
