Conspiracy theorists claim Steve Jobs is ALIVE and hiding in Egypt as Apple founder’s barefoot lookalike is snapped

AN EERIE snap of a Steve Jobs lookalike has sparked bizarre conspiracy theories that the Apple genius is alive and hiding in Egypt.

The Apple co-founder, who sparked a tech revolution, of course passed away in 2011 aged 56 after a long battle with cancer.

But a photo of a man - who looks strikingly similar to Jobs - having a coffee in Cairo has fuelled rumours that the tech titan is actually still alive.

The lookalike did not seem to be wearing shoes, which may strike a chord with fans who know Jobs used to walk barefoot while brainstorming.

But eagle-eyed social media users pointed out the man in the photo is not wearing an Apple watch – surely a vital giveaway.

The photo was posted to Facebook on Saturday – but it is not clear when the picture was actually taken.

Once shared on social-networking site Reddit, the snap attracted hundreds of comments, with some convinced it was the real Steve Jobs.

One wrote: “This guy looks too much like Steve Jobs to be so random.”

Another added: “Even something about the way he sits.”

One said: “Honestly, wouldn't put it past him. His love for Egypt and that type of simple living.

“That spirituality that lives there. The need to escape.

“Idk (I don’t known) man. I'm not very into conspiracy theories, but Jobs would be crazy enough to actually do it.”

This is not the first time conspiracy theorists have questioned whether Jobs may still be alive.

A selfie posted to Reddit five years ago sparked claims Jobs was hiding out in Rio de Janeiro.

But again, there was no evidence to show when the photo was actually taken.

APPLE GENIUS

Jobs co-founded Apple in a garage in 1976 and went on to change the entire tech industry with his stylish designs.

He battled pancreatic cancer in 2004 and had to have a liver transplant in 2007.

In his poignant resignation letter, which he penned three months before his death, Jobs said he felt he could no longer continue in the top job.

He wrote: “I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know.

“Unfortunately, that day has come.

“I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it.”

Jobs was behind some of technology’s most revolutionary creations.

He transformed the music industry when the iPod was introduced on October 23, 2001.

Six years later he revitalised the mobile market with the first iPhone on January 9, 2007.

And on January 27, 2010, the iPad was announced, changing the portable computer world forever.
