UBER RICH

Private jet used by ‘eco warriors’ Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for Ibiza holiday cost £20k from fleet dubbed ‘Uber for billionaires’

THE private plane used by “eco warriors” Harry and Meghan to jet back from their summer holiday is from a fleet let to billionaires.

The royal couple flew on a nine-seater Cessna 500 XL provided by NetJets — a plane-sharing service for tycoons and the ultra-rich.

While it is not known who paid for the £20k round-trip to Ibiza, Harry’s millionaire pal Nacho Figueras is known to be a big user of NetJets — dubbed “the Uber for billionaires”.

It is not known if the plane the Duke and Duchess used on Monday to fly back from Spain to Farnborough Airport in Hants was the same one they went out on Tuesday last week.

“Green campaigner” Harry has previously said of the environment: “Every choice, every action makes a difference.”

Last night Paul Ekins, professor of Environmental Policy at University College London, blasted: “People making personal statements about climate change should be conscious of their own carbon footprint.

The increase in flights is mostly due to wealthy people flying more — not poorer people starting to fly a little.”

The Sun revealed yesterday it is the second time in two weeks Harry, 34, has used a private jet.

Most recently he was taking Meghan — and baby Archie — away to celebrate her 38th birthday.

The planes create seven times more CO2 per person than commercial flights. Buckingham Palace refused to comment.
