CARRIE Symonds and Boris Johnson made their first official public appearance in Downing Street yesterday.
Carrie, 31, made her official Downing Street debut with the PM, 55, at a reception at No10 for hospice workers.
Downing Street announced the news by tweeting a photograph of Boris and Carrie smiling as they chatted to their guests.
In a message with the picture, the No10 account tweeted “PM @BorisJohnson hosted a reception at Downing Street to thank hospice staff for their hard work, dedication and compassion.”
The move is a big step for the couple, and shows that Carrie will take on a very public role as the PM’s official other half.
The last time the couple were pictured together officially was on Boris’ first day as PM.
Carrie defied the advice of some of the Bojo’s closest aides by insisting on joining Downing Street staff in standing outside to welcome Boris to No10.
But the pair were not pictured side by side and have not been seen at an official engagement together since.

Downing Street insiders pointed out that the spouses of other PMs have been by their side at Downing Street receptions.
Boris and Carrie became a couple last year.
But they have kept a low profile as Boris’ divorce from barrister Marina Wheeler, 55, makes its way through the courts.
