BUNCH OF FUELS

Bungling eco-warriors make an epic blunder by protesting outside the offices of a GREEN energy firm

DOZY eco warriors made an astonishing blunder and protested at the offices of a GREEN energy firm.

They gathered outside what they thought was a gas giant’s base — only to discover that the company had moved.

Protesters from Reclaim the Power chained themselves to the door and blocked the road as they unfurled banners and banged drums.

They thought the offices in Moorgate, central London, belonged to gas firm Drax.

But the company left the premises more than a year ago.

The building now houses Norwegian firm Statkraft — Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy — whose staff were blocked from getting into work.

As the demo began, Reclaim the Power went on Twitter to declare: “We’re using our bodies to block Drax’s HQ and tell them we won’t stand for climate-wrecking new gas projects.”

One joker posted below the statement: “Ahahahahahah...bunch of absolute idiots protesting outside a green energy company no longer Drax...well planned out that was...”

The group later moved to Drax’s current office about half a mile away.

Other members picketed the site of a gas power plant in Lincolnshire owned by SSE.

Last night Reclaim the Power could not be reached for comment.
