Murder probe launched after man dies from head injuries following brutal attack in Hillingdon
COPS have launched a murder investigation after a man died from head injuries following a brutal attack in West London.
Robert Komuro, 41, was attended by medics on Tuesday July 23 shortly after 10pm in Yiewsley, Hillingdon.
He was rushed to a central London hospital in a critical condition but died two days later.
A post-mortem is set to be carried out.
Two men, aged 44 and 42, were arrested on July 24 on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
They were later released on bail until mid-August.
Detective Chief Inspector Robert Pack, Specialist Crime said: “This was a tragic incident in which a man has suffered fatal head injuries after being assaulted.
“The circumstances of Robert Komuro’s death are complex but we believe he may have been involved in an altercation with two men prior to being injured.”
Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 or contact via Twitter @MetCC, quoting reference Cad 9037/23Jul.
It's the latest in a harrowing spate of bloodshed as London's violent crime crisis continues to spiral out of control.
There have now been 85 murders in the capital this year - with a 61-year-old woman bludgeoned to death in her home last week.
Tragic Diane Dyer, 61, who lived with rescue dog Willow, was discovered dead at her ground floor flat in Beckenham on July 18.
And last month, London was left reeling after three killings in just 24 hours.
It included the deaths of two teenagers - who were killed just 12 minutes apart in separate gun and knife attacks.
In May, figures revealed five young people are attacked with a knife every day in London.
New Prime Minister Boris Johnson has launched a recruitment drive for 20,000 new police officers across the UK over the next three years.
The Government is also reviewing police stop and search powers to make it simpler for officers to tackle knife-carriers.
