How three years of Brexit hell has left Theresa May exhausted

THREE years of Brexit hell has taken its toll on Theresa May and left her completely exhausted.

She came into No10 fresh, full of beans and ready to run the nation, but failing to deliver Brexit has left her ready for a well-deserved break.

Photographs from 2016 - when she came into office - tell a very different story from snaps taken throughout her leadership.

Despite delivering some changes during her time in No10, she failed three times to get her deal passed by the Commons and was forced to resign and make way for Boris Johnson.

And all those late night summits in Brussels dealing with the bloc's leaders would tire anyone out.

The ex-PM also had to fight off a challenge to her leadership last December when some of her own MPs tried to oust her.

And she's faced rebellions from the Remainers in her party trying to wreck Brexit, and the hardcore Leavers trying to get a better exit deal too.

The PM faced months with even less sleep than usual when she called a snap general election in April 2017 too, which led to her losing her majority.

Alongside that she's had to fly all over the world to meet world leaders including Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, who has lashed out at her Brexit policy in recent days, and endorsed her successor.

In the final days of her reign she had to deal with the fall-out from the leaking of secret diplomatic cables from America, our closest ally, which led to the US ambassador resigning.

On the domestic front Mrs May dealt with the aftermath of the Manchester and Westminster terror attacks too.

And when 72 people lost their lives in the horrific Grenfell fire tragedy, the PM led the response and went to visit those on the scene too.

DUP deputy leader Nigel Dodds praised the "dedicated and decent" Theresa May during her last PMQs.

And he urged her to visit Northern Ireland soon to enjoy the "walking opportunities" there.

We couldn't agree more, it's time for a break Theresa.
